John Peeples

Vice President, Human Resources
John Peeples was appointed Vice President of Human Resources in November 2025. He is a distinguished healthcare executive with more than two decades of leadership experience.
Prior to joining Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Mr. Peeples held senior leadership roles at Keck Medicine of USC, including Executive Administrator of Systemwide Employee & Labor Relations and Vice President/CHRO for USC Arcadia Hospital. He also served in leadership positions at Howard University, Cleveland Clinic Indian River Medical Center, Dimensions Healthcare System, and the University of Connecticut Healthcare Center.
As Vice President of Human Resources, Mr. Peeples oversees the hospital’s People and Culture framework, including leadership development, service excellence, and workforce analytics. His responsibilities include organizational leadership initiatives, employee engagement and service performance programs, and the use of workforce data to support operational and strategic decisions.
Mr. Peeples holds a doctorate degree in organizational change and leadership from the USC Rossier School of Education, a master’s degree in business administration in organizational behavior from Case Western Reserve University, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration in management and labor relations from Cleveland State University.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He is also certified in Just Culture and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Society for Human Resource Management, WorldatWork, and the National Black MBA Association.
