The VPH Magnet Journey

What Is Magnet®?

Magnet Excellence

The Magnet Recognition Program® is a designation through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for healthcare organizations that highlights quality patient care, nursing excellence, and advances in professional nursing practice.

It is a distinction that demonstrates aligned structure and process, in order to produce consistent and sustainable best practice outcomes over time.

Why Is Valley Presbyterian Hospital Seeking Magnet Recognition?

Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) is dedicated to improving the quality of health in the San Fernando Valley. VPH is a values-based organization that strives to uphold the Core Values of dignity, respect, compassion, transparency and collaboration. VPH is committed to supporting activities and programs that address the identified unmet health needs in the hospital service area.

Furthermore, VPH nurses are dedicated to enhancing the quality of health in the San Fernando Valley through advocacy, collaboration, education, and evidence-based practice. We provide an environment of healing and excellence by improving the quality of health in the community one person at a time, creating trusting relationships, demonstrating compassion, and showing respect for those we serve. At VPH, our nurses are transformational leaders, innovators, and exemplary mentors who strive to deliver quality care, fostering an environment of growth and professional development.
