Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer
Lori Burnell was appointed Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer
in March 2014. Ms. Burnell most recently served as Vice President &
Chief Nurse and Operations Executive at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San
Diego. She has held several clinical leadership positions at Scripps Mercy
Hospital, Pomerado Hospital in Poway, Calif., and Mission Hospital in
Mission Viejo.
As Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer, she leads an expert
team of more than 700 nurses and staff to expand Valley Presbyterian Hospital's
patient care and professional development capacity. She also oversees
all rehabilitation services.
Ms. Burnell received a doctorate of philosophy in nursing from the University of San Diego, a master's degree in nursing from California State University, Long Beach, and a bachelor's degree in nursing from California State University, Fullerton.
