Speech Therapy

Restoring Communication Skills

Speech language pathologists (speech therapists) provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of a variety of disorders with a concentration in the areas of speech, language, cognition, and swallow function.

Using a variety of techniques and resources, our pathologists work side-by-side to improve speech function and offset any difficulties you may be experiencing. Our goal is to restore independence in all areas of life.

The speech therapy department also performs video swallow studies in conjunction with the radiology department. A video swallow study, sometimes called a modified barium swallow study, is an assessment of swallow function that is used to evaluate and treat dysphagia, or swallowing difficulty.

Our interdisciplinary team works with you to provide individual care for your specific needs.

We treat a broad range of conditions and disorders including:

  • Brain injury (acquired or traumatic)
  • Stroke
  • Critical illness myopathy
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Post-concussion syndrome
  • Developmental disorders
  • Other neurological disorders
