Advanced, Family-Centered Care Close to Home
Valley Presbyterian Hospital is designated a
Pediatric Medical Center (PMC), recognized by the County of Los Angeles for the high level of care
provided to our pediatric patients by our team of pediatric specialists.
Only three hospitals are a designated PMC in the San Fernando Valley,
and we are proud that VPH is one of them. Additionally, our
Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) designation means we have specialized pediatric teams who are ready
at a moment's notice to assemble, triage, and fast-track children
to the care they urgently need.
When your child is sick or injured, Valley Presbyterian Hospital stands
ready to provide compassionate and specialized care. Our pediatric care
team shares a patient-and family-centered approach, providing your child
and your family with the treatment and support needed for the best outcomes.
Our specialists include pediatric surgeons and anesthesiologists, providing
the highest level of non-trauma care to children in the San Fernando Valley.
Children's Services at Valley Presbyterian Hospital encompasses three
units, well equipped to help children and adolescents from the time they are born:

Helping Children to Heal
Our PMC designated PICU is designed to meet the medical and emotional needs
of children. Patient rooms in these units feature a child-friendly theme,
as well as a plasma television and recliner for parents who wish to remain
at their child's bedside. Our playroom is stocked with books, easels,
puzzles, board games, and video games, allowing the children in our care
to be kids as well as patients.
At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, families play an important role in the
emotional and physical recovery of their children. To support this role,
physicians and staff strive to make parents and family members feel comfortable
and included in their child's care while in our hospital.
