Message from the CEO
Gustavo Valdespino, President and Chief Executive Officer
On behalf of everyone at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, I welcome you to our facility and invite you to explore our website, where you will learn about our hospital and the services we offer. If you or someone you know is anticipating a stay with us, we are happy to provide this online service to keep you informed. We are committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible for you and your family.
Since opening our doors to our first patients in 1958, Valley Presbyterian Hospital has seen tremendous advancements on all medical fronts and across multiple medical specialties.
Our hospital'sleadership has made the commitment and investment to acquire the latest technologies that allow our physicians to improve the quality of patient care and the quality of patients’ lives.
With our STEMI-certified ER and our new state-of-the-art Fritz B. Burns Valley Cardiac Cath Lab, our cardiologists can now respond faster to heart attack patients. Armed with our new Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), physicians have instant access to critical patient images and information in digital format.
Inside our leading-edge Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), one of the Valley’s finest, newborns weighing under 1000 grams receive stellar care from neonatal specialists, so they can grow up to lead productive lives. Inside some of our newly renovated operating rooms, surgeons can now perform major procedures using minimally invasive techniques that require smaller incisions and shorter recovery times.
Beyond equipping our physicians with the technologies and tools to excel at their jobs, we’ve also invested in an exceptional support staff. We’ve brought on Medical Directors for each specialization to serve as liaisons between our physicians and administrators to ensure our doctors’ requests are being heard. We’ve also implemented a remarkable nurse development program to increase the supply and specialized knowledge of the nurses who work side-by-side with our doctors.
Above all, we realize that our journey has only just begun. Valley Presbyterian Hospital is a forward-looking organization, continually planning and preparing for the future of our hospital and of medicine. In the years to come, we will continue to sharpen our focus on the physician as core to the delivery and improvement of health care. Our hospital will continue to invest in the technologies that support them.
While we evolve to meet the changing needs of our patients, Valley Presbyterian Hospital is and will remain a locally controlled non-profit hospital, operated and governed by people who work and live in the community we serve. All funds, resources, and decisions are directed back to the hospital for the sole purpose of delivering quality care to the San Fernando Valley.
Thank you for choosing Valley Presbyterian Hospital. We look forward to caring for you and your family.
