Since 1958, the physicians, staff and volunteers at Valley Presbyterian
Hospital have set excellent standards in providing high quality health
care in a warm and compassionate environment. Your health and satisfaction
is our priority. To sustain and improve our standard of quality health
care and patient satisfaction, we need and depend on your feedback.
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best care and service possible,
we participate in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers
and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. The HCAHPS survey measures your satisfaction
with the quality of your care. It is designed to be a standardized tool
for measuring and reporting satisfaction across all hospitals in the United States.
After you are released from the hospital, you may be contacted by Press
Ganey, a consulting firm specializing in measuring quality performance,
by telephone, mail or e-mail to participate in the HCAHPS survey. The
survey asks 27 multiple choice questions about your hospital stay. We
ask you to please take a few minutes to complete the patient survey and
return it to Press Ganey in the enclosed postage-paid envelope.
What is HCAHPS?
The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS)
survey is backed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The survey is used to improve the quality of health care. HCAHPS makes
survey results public so hospitals are aware of areas that need improvement.
The results also enable health care consumers to review and compare hospitals
before choosing a health care provider.
Hospital Compare is a growing government website that allows users to compare the quality
of care provided by hospitals. The information provided on this website
is based on HCAHPS survey results.
The Leapfrog Group rates hospitals that take part in the Leapfrog Hospital Quality and Safety
Survey. The Survey measures how well hospitals meet the Leapfrog Group's
quality and safety standards. Survey results are reported on Leapfrog's
website for users to compare hospitals.
DNV Healthcare is the leading accreditor of United States hospitals integrating ISO 9001
quality compliances with the Medicare conditions of participation. Quality
reports for all accredited organizations that meet its high standards
are available on its website.
