VAN NUYS, Calif. — Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) is pleased
to announce its 3rd Annual Celebration of Excellence dinner will be held
Thursday, May 12 at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 North Sepulveda
Blvd., in Los Angeles from 6-9 PM.
Net proceeds from the event will support the hospital’s $8.4 million
Emergency Department renovation and expansion project. VPH’s Emergency
Department is one of the busiest in the San Fernando Valley with more
than 66,000 patient visits each year. To continue to meet the region’s
growing demand for critical and urgent medical care, VPH began construction
to renovate and expand its Emergency Department in fall 2015.
More than 500 business and community leaders, donors, physicians and hospital
leadership are expected in attendance for the cocktail reception and dinner.
Featured entertainment is by the San Fernando Valley Japanese Community
Center’s Taiko Drummers; Kirk Portuguez and his Jazz Trio; and the
CSUN Jazz Band.
The dinner honors VPH physician Ralph R. Salimpour, MD, DCH, FAAP, and
Wells Fargo Bank.
For over 30 years, Dr. Salimpour has provided health care for children
in the San Fernando Valley. Parents have come to depend on Dr. Salimpour
to provide quality medical care for their children. His compassionate,
and all-inclusive pediatrics care has earned him the prestigious “Leaders
of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow Award,” from the UCLA School of Public
Health and in 2012 and he was named “Physician of the Year”
by the Los Angeles County Medical Association. Currently a clinical professor
of pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, he is founder
of the Salimpour Pediatric Medical Group.
